    About Cirencester

Cirencester is a market town in east Gloucestershire, England, 93 miles west northwest of London. Cirencester lies on the River Churn, a tributary of the River Thames, and is the largest town in the Cotswold District. It is the home of the Royal Agricultural University, the oldest agricultural college in the English-speaking world founded in 1840.

Cirencester's architecture is a mellow blend of old and new buildings. The earliest surviving building is the 15th century Church of St. John the Baptist, whose splendid tower dominates the town centre. Built with the wealth of woold merchants in the Perpendicular style, it is considered to be one of the greatest 'wool churches' in the country.

Cirencester is full of tastefully restored courtyards, alleyways and lovely old streets with a seemingly endless number of independent shops, encouraging us all to enjoy the chance to shop and eat in the many unique venues - alongside some of the more recognisable high street names.
